Step Into a Circle of Reciprocity
At the current moment, Achuar children are able to be educated within their communities until high school when they then have to leave their families and go live in larger towns and cities for 4 years. During this time they have little connection with their parents, siblings, friends, community. During this developmental time they are experiencing trauma and situations that no child should endure. They return disconnected from their Indigenous roots and wisdom, confused, and unsure how to re-immerse themselves into their communities.
The opportunity in front of us all is incredible. Through the creation of a school that honors their Indigenous wisdom, based in life-centered education and cultural preservation - the next generation of leaders can prepare to advocate for a world of balance, equality and interconnected awareness.
